WHO WE ARE
Who can join the St. Anastasia Men’s Club?
Membership is open to all men who have children attending St. A’s, as well as men who are parishioners of St. Anastasia.
How does the Men’s Club operate?
Membership is $100 annually. Funds will cover the cost of the 5-7 social events throughout the 2017-18 school year. All you have to do is attend these activities.
How many members are there?
Our membership has varied between 60-70. We have great representation from the different segments of our community - dads who have kids that graduated from St. A's and those who have kids at the school now. We also have dads who don't have kids at St. A's.
What are some of the fun events being planned?
Last year’s calendar included Happy Hours and Dinners, as well as a Beer Tasting and Poker Night in the local Westchester, Marina del Rey, and Playa del Rey areas. Two of our most well-received events are the annual Turkey Dinner/Cornhole Tournament and Beef, Beer & Basketball March Madness Watch Party. The Men’s Club also co-sponsors the annual golf tournament which benefits the school and endowment fund.
Do I have to attend all of the events?
No date is perfect for the entire membership to attend each event. Events are usually scheduled during the week after work and are very casual in nature. For example, when we have a Happy Hour, some members come by for a drink; others stay for a couple hours. Some come early; some come late.
What is an endowment?
An endowment is an amount of money that is given with the stipulation that the funds are invested to earn annual interest rather than spent immediately. The earned interest is then disbursed by a committee within the school to an identified project. Since 2007, the Men’s Club has raised more than $60,000 for the endowment.
